The focus of this CPD accredited workshop will be on species identification. One of the first aims for an anthropologist working on a case is to determine the origin of the skeletal remains in question. Are they human or non-human? The analysis of bone fragments is often required wherther working in mass disasters or fire scenes, or archaeology; with the discrimination between human and non-human bone essential to determining the relevance of the material in question. To enable forensic anthropologist s to further develop this skill, a workshop in species identification for those attending the conference day is included in the BAFA registration fee.
