Owners buried with pets
25/Jan/2010
Everyone knows that a dog is for life. But an increasing number of animal lovers want to be with their pets for longer than that - and are making arrangements to be buried together.
Officials in Lincolnshire last week approved the latest joint animal and human cemetery, where owners and pets can be laid to rest in the same place.
West
Lindsey District Council granted planning permission for a human and
animal burial site, near Stainton by Langworth, north of Lincoln.
One acre will be dedicated to animal burials. The rest of the four-and-a-quarter acre site will be a 'green' human burial ground.
Several other cemeteries around the country allow pets and their owners to be buried in the same plot.
