We are honoured to have the following Keynote Speakers for the BAHID 2024 Conference:
Dr Julie Roberts
From conducting Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) in war zones, scenes of crime and mass fatality incidents to being an Expert Advisor in forensic anthropology and archaeology for the National Crime Agency (NCA), Company Scientific Advisor for Alecto Forensics, Dr. Julie Roberts is a highly regarded expert and has made quite the name for herself in the field of forensics. Dr Julie Roberts has had an extensive career in DVI and continues to work within this field as well as drive research forward to better understand the challenges facing DNA recovery from mass fatality incidents. She has undertaken many cases, including overseas deployments and the 2005 London bombings and is a Senior Lecturer in Forensic Anthropology at Liverpool John Moores University.
Doris Eerhart
Doris Eerhart ( The Hague 7 September 1957) is an International Forensic Advisor/Scientific Support Coordinator. She studied HBO Medical Analysis, Genetics and International Crime Scene Management. She started working in The Hague Medical Center in 1979. In 1987 she started her career at the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI), first as a serologist and since 1989 as a DNA researcher. A big career switch was made in 2001 when she became a forensic advisor for international case work at the NFI. Doris is one of the founding members of BAHID, established during the first meeting in 2001. On request of the UN, she acted as Team Leader in several assassination cases in Lebanon (2006-2009). Doris recently completed an impressive 37.5 years at the NFI, where she coordinated the case work requests from the International Tribunals and UN Investigation Mechanisms. She gives lectures on international case work at International Education Centers, and Universities.
